About Seth

Seth empowers leaders to use emerging communication technologies to unlock the full potential of their organizations. His approach combines the management philosophies of Peter Drucker with the communication concepts of Clay Shirky. Using strategies that blend traditional and new media, he enables organizations to manage knowledge workers in a way that increases innovation, customer retention and employee satisfaction.

Seth is a fifteen year broadcasting veteran. He has been a part of programming teams at radio stations in several major markets, including New York City, Boston, Seattle, St. Louis and Providence. He has worked both on the mic and behind the scenes, overseeing entire programming divisions.

After a brief stint as a political documentary filmmaker, Seth left radio to found an event production company. He produced over 200 events, including expos, competitions, conferences, concerts and fashion shows. He utilized social media extensively to market these events, which led him to found a consulting company, New England Social Media. He began teaching seminars on social media to other local business leaders.

Seth’s social media work led him to the leadership development firm Linkage, where he became an integral part of events like the Global Institute for Leadership Development, the Women in Leadership Summit and the Leading Diversity Summit. At these events, he had an opportunity to discuss ideas with thought leaders like Peter Block, Marshall Goldsmith and Tony Alessandra. He was architect of Linkage’s social media strategy and collaborated on social media consulting projects for clients like GE Capital. It was here that he first began melding social media theory with leadership practices.

In 2011, Seth launched a podcast called Occupy the Airwaves, in which he explored the motivations of participants in the Occupy Wall Street protests. The movement’s use of social media to create a new leadership paradigm further sparked his interest in developing a new leadership model. This model would enable leaders to use emerging communication technologies effectively within their own organizations.

Seth is currently the Content Manager for Marketo. He continues to write, speak and podcast with a focus on leadership through social media. In 2011, he founded The Polylogue to share his communication strategies with other leaders.
